The Ultimate Ten Step Process to Highly Effective Goal Setting –

Made Especially for Moms

[Goal Structure has a purpose. In this article, we will have a 10-step process for you to effectively set goals that you will have to accomplish in the next 90 days. Before we start, you should have this mindset – do not set goals that will not help in improving your productivity or earning potential. Often the case is, the wrong goal would ruin the more important things in life like your relationships. What is it that you want? Is it time, money, being with your family? What do you want? Start from this basic question as you set that goal and decide on what you fervently want to accomplish in the next three months.

For a start: What do you do?

When someone asks this question, do not hesitate to tell them what you like doing. If you were to ask me, what do I do: “I am a mom, a teacher, and a great researcher” – and I am proud of that. So what is it that you do beyond job titles?

When you’ve figured that one out, wait no further and begin working on your goals by following the 10-step process below!

Number 1: A Goal for the people

Your number 1 consideration when you set a goal should be about people. Your goal revolves around the people that you care about, the ones who are close to you. They could include your peers at work, friends, employees, partners, family or mentors, the individuals who are of great significance in your life – these PEOPLE would come first.

Number 2: A Goal to Invest in Something

A successful life awaits anyone who plans his/her investments. So include in your goal setting process the plan to invest in something that will help you move forward. Whatever may it be, from an iPhone to a CMR or email system, what is it that one thing that you are going to invest in right now? For me, I am going to hire a virtual assistant to help me. The important thing right now is not to make any more money excuses because scare money brings no money. Don’t delay any further as to start investing in yourself.

Number 3: Spend some time to implement

At the very least, spend at least 3 hours every week to implement your action plan. You are reading this now because you have this need to decide on what is your next big step, right? Whether we love how someone said something or are constantly saying “that’s a great idea”, it is time to start taking real action. Every week, spend 3 hours, at least, implementing and doing what you choose to do. Set alarms, make appointments with yourself and start working on all those great ideas!

Number 4: One action per week

Usually, we think like this:

“ When I finish the website, I will have time to do this”

“ When I finish the academy, I am going to do this.”

“ When I finish my boot camp, I will be able to do this.”

But at the end of the day, were you able to do it? Life keeps happening one day after another. Unless you make the time NOW, your goals are not going to materialize on their own! Move away from this cycle and set up to do one thing, one massive action, every week for 12 weeks.

If you don’t have a wife or a romantic relationship, think about your mom, friends or business partners and ponder on what will bring that connection better

Number 5: Make your needle move

Commit the needle mover, which is that one activity that makes the most impact in your life. For example, in your business what is critical to bring potential customers in? Or what is it that makes them repeat business? I am a visual person, so in my case, increasing traffic to my sites and growing my list is critical, therefore content creation adding value to my community moves the needle closer to success. And to create content I personally enjoy videos, webinars and online groups.

Uncover those needle mover by asking yourself:

  • What gets me closer to making {specific money amount}? Or What takes me closer to the top 50% in my market? Or What makes me a better mom, better wife, better employer? Fill in your blanks and make this questions personal and real to you.
  • Then, think about what specific actions you need to start doing to make that needle move.

Once you recognize your needle mover, that critical core activity, then schedule to do that one (1) hour per day.

Number 6: Give up Something

Basic Principle in Life: Give up something in order to gain something. To succeed in whatever endeavor, you need to give up the things that do not serve any purpose to you.  Is it watching that late night TV show? How about letting go of all the bitterness and unpleasantness – stop arguing, stop unnerving people and start implementing! Those are a few of the bad things that you should let go of. So decide very wisely on what you are giving up.

Number 7: Set up a Fitness Goal

The moment I started to take my health seriously by doing extra research on the impact of a healthy lifestyle in productivity, I realized how important it is to work out and I started working on my fitness. In the beginning, it was very hard but as I have progressed and conquer many physical challenges, I feel like I could take on the world. At your own pace and preference, select a physical activity that you will commit to for the next 12 weeks. If you have kids to take care of and you feel like it’s such a tiring thing to do, believe me, after a good workout, your energy will come after a good sweat! Try just 10 minutes a week and see how your energy levels change.

Number 8: Set a Resetting Weekly Activity

Not just any weekly activity but something refreshing where you will not have to think about anything and relax. We are rushing and stressing all the time, and when we add multitasking to the equation (which I don’t recommend at all), we restrain ourselves from the necessary activity of resetting our brain to decompress, destress and think better. When you do “non-thinking activities” (activities not related to your job, project, family, finance), your brain’s mechanism is to reset all your ideas in its rightful place in your brain. So for 12 weeks, plan ahead 12 prospective activities, one for every week – that’s quite a bucket list that you need to make!

Number 9: Initiate a Mastermind

In this mastermind group, you will teach them things that they will not learn anywhere else. Include in this mastermind your friends or anyone of action. I personally believe in more action, people. Make a group comprised of these driven individuals; teach them and tell them about your goal. In helping other individuals set up their goals, you are likewise, lending yourself a hand, because as we teach we cement knowledge and habits.

Number 10: Down to the Money Talk

For the next 90 days, be brutally honest on how much money you want to make by the end of 12 weeks. Set a realistic goal on what figure would make you happy. Is it $1,000 more than now or is it $10,000? You need to know your number!

In the next twelve weeks, work on the 10 numbers above. Like a ripple effect, start with one thing as this makes everything else happen. What is that one thing that you need to do right now to change your life? Start working and start living your life now![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

I do consider all the concepts you’ve presented in your post.

They are very convincing and will definitely work.
Nonetheless, the posts are very quick for beginners.
May just you please extend them a little from subsequent time?
    Thank you for the post.

  3. Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the
video to make your point. You obviously know what
youre talking about, why throw away your intelligence on just posting videos to your blog when you could be giving us something informative to read? http://www.gorehowl.com/x/vitasilk47787

Great point! Yet, I have found that, lately, people are more into listening & watching than reading. I will keep on writing for sure 😉
