Featured Guest: Michelle Y Talbert

Michelle Y. Talbert is a recovering attorney who uses digital and social media to provide tools and resources such as podcasts, videos, live events, and written publications to empower women in business. 

She has written for major publications and is a sought-after presenter and speaker on topics related to relationship marketing and networking in business. She is an expert tribe builder and has been featured in Forbes, The Washington Post, and other major publications.

After attending community college part-time for 10 years, while working as a secretary by day as a divorced single mom, she transferred to Cornell University. Then, she went on to receive her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania with a Business Certificate from Wharton. Michelle left the full-time practice of law in 2012 to explore all things blog, podcast, and social media-related. 

In January 2020 Michelle opened the doors to Her Power Space, a Woman forward, Men welcoming(tm) hospitality-driven coworking space, business event venue, and podcast studio near Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

In spring 2020, in response to the devastating impact of COVID-19 on the small business community, Michelle launched the No Small Business Left Behind [Virtual] Summit series as a resource for business owners to get information, resources, and forge connections with others to ensure their survival.

In episode 46 of the Life Boss: Becoming Unstoppable podcast, she shares with you important steps to start applying game-changing strategies to grow your customer base:

1. Identify what are your values and have them as your true compass.
2. Share in social media a mix of
   (a) curated content around topics that you and your tribe value and used them as conversation starters, and
   (b) created content by you add value to the conversation but that relates to your service.
3. Build a library of hot topics and curated topics that are important to you. That way you will have content when you feel less than inspired.
4. Create a library of your core content so that you are consistently presenting your services and products in social ways. This is where you really have to tune to this episode.
5.  Engage with your community not only on social media posts but also strategically via direct messages. Don’t forget to share free resources that add them to your list.
